In support of this album, Muse headed out on a year-long international tour.

This earned the group crucial backing from the likes of Steve Lamacq and NME, and its debut studio album Showbiz was released in 1999, scoring relative chart success. The band released its first EPs to a loyal fan base and was met with relative success in the UK indie charts. Starting in the early ’90s under the original name Gothic Plague, the band toured relentlessly with bands such as Skunk Anansie. Muse is known for a unique style of alt-rock, with electronic music leanings and a blend of classical music, which lends to an ethereal, melancholic sound. It includes frontman, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Matt Bellamy, bassist and backing vocalist Christopher Wolstenholme, and drummer Dominic Howard.
